Shady Oaks of Georgetown has long been recognized as a community with some of the most beautiful land in the Central Texas area. The portrait of serenity, this acre plus community offers idyllic country living with premium hill country lots and beautiful mature oaks trees.
These days Shady Oaks is not only earning recognition for its beauty, but also for its top notch schools. Jarrell ISD is quickly garnering a reputation as a strong up-and-coming district. Recently rated, Recognized, for Academic Achievement in 2008, the district has expanded into a new High School for the 2008-2009 academic year and has plans for a new elementary school and middle school in the near future. Additionally, the districts small class sizes, excellent faculty members and emphasis on student involvement and extracurriculars make it a rising star among community members. "The residents of Shady Oaks are extremely pleased with the quality of the schools in this area," said sales consultant Sherri Ewoldt, "I consistently hear positive feedback on the amount of individual academic attention each child receives in the Jarrell district." Community members within Shady Oaks also had affirmative comments about the school district.
"I have a 7 year old boy that has been at Jarrell since Kindergarten he is now going into 2nd grade. The school district has been a wonderful place for my son. The teachers have been caring and aggressive on giving a solid education. I feel comfort knowing that my son is being taken care of each day when I send him to school."

"I have three children attending Jarrell ISD elementary and middle school campuses. We have been in Jarrell for five years.
We like that the school is small and the children are encouraged to participate in all activities. They are all encouraged to participate in UIL competitions and have won many academic awards. The teachers are very supportive and if a child is struggling they work with the parents to help the child achieve their goals.
The children are also allowed to play all sports that they are interested in playing. You don’t have to “try out” to make the team. Everyone is played on the team and encouraged to do their best. The coaches are positive in helping the children who are playing sports."

"Our family moved to the Jarrell area in 1997. At that time, we had an 8th grader, a 1st grader and a kindergartner. My daughter the youngest, just graduated from high school this year. My oldest pursued college and a military career, my middle son is also attending college.
Over all we found Jarrell Independent School District to be a positive experience for all three of our children. They were encouraged to excel in school and participation in extra curricular activities was fostered. Our children’s teachers actively sought parental input and our student’s success was their primary goal.
Jarrell Independent School District has a proactive school board and an administration that responds to questions and concerns, and creates and promotes a positive learning environment. "

In Jarrell, "The elementary, middle school and high school are all listed as Recognized for Academic Achievement by TEA for 2008. My wife and I raised four children and they all attended Jarrell. Our oldest daughter graduated from Texas A&M in 2009 with a degree in psychology. We have another daughter in vet school at A&M. Our oldest son is a criminal justice major at Tarleton. Our youngest son will be a freshman this tear at Jarrell. We have a new high school and will have a new elementary school by 2010. We have made a lot of improvements in the last few years. Parents should feel confident in sending their kids to Jarrell. They get a quality education, get to actually play in sports if they choose and they can get some personal attention from teachers when needed. "

Jimmy Jacobs Builds Home for a Woman in Need
After surviving a devastating tornado that tore through eastern Williamson county last month and destroyed her mobile home 63 year old Alice Holcomb was shocked to learn that local Home builder Jimmy Jacobs along with several other local vendors have volunteered to rebuild her a brand new custom home. Alice, a widow and 44 year resident of Georgetown, was in her mobile home when the violent tornado hit the Jonah area. Ms. Holcomb was up in the wee hours of the morning on April 28th unplugging her appliances, fearing that the lightning may damage them, when she suddenly heard what sounded like a train tearing through her home. Fearing for her life Ms. Holcomb dove behind her couch clutching a picture of Christ and praying. Although the storm only lasted a mere 30 seconds, the severe damage to her home will last a lifetime. Today Ms. Holcomb is renting a small apartment in Georgetown after discovering that her electricity cannot be turned on due to permanent water damage causing the ceiling to leak and sag. Her shed and carport were also ripped away and deposited several houses down. The storm damaged more than 20 buildings in Jonah and knocked out power for thousands in the area. The National Weather Service, declared the storm an F1 tornado with winds of 85 to 95 mph.
When Jimmy Jacobs Custom Homes VP of Sales and Marketing, Rob Jensen, heard Alice Holcomb’s story he immediately wanted to help. “I knew that we had the capability to help repair Ms. Holcomb’s mobile home. When I approached Jimmy about making repairs to her roof and electrical damage, he wanted to do more. I will never forget his response,” Jensen says. He looked up from and his desk and said, “We are going to do more than fix her roof; we are going to build her a brand new home.” Jensen goes on to say that Jimmy always adheres to the philosophy that, everyone deserves a place to call home. Jimmy is fully dedicated to serving fellow community members would like to challenge other Homebuilders in the Austin area to “Step out into the community and aid others who are in need.”
Jimmy is no stranger to serving the community. He is passionate about helping others, and continually dedicates his time and effort to helping others in the Austin area. Thus far, Jimmy has built four homes for Habitat for Humanity, donated build/design service to the Williamson County Children’s Advocacy center and was chosen by ABC’s Extreme Makeover: Home Edition in 2006 to build a home for a family in need.
Alice Holcomb’s custom home will be built in Jimmy’s first active adult community, Texas Traditions, located off of Booty’s Road in Georgetown. Construction on the 1427 sq ft home is set to begin in early June and is set to be complete by the end of October. Alice says that “the new home is an absolute blessing” and calls Jimmy and his team of volunteers “her angels.” In an effort to help with the project, she plans to give a portion of the insurance settlement from her mobile home to be used towards the construction of her new home.
This project is made possible by the many generous vendors who have donated everything from building materials to manual labor. Jimmy Jacobs Custom Homes would like to thank the following list of companies for their generosity; Austin Marble, Brightway Cleaning, Cabinets Deluxe, CB Hardware, Callaway Roofing, Casa Mechanical, Caskey Drywall, City Mechanical Services, Cobra Stone, D&T Trim and Cab, Factory Builder stores, FT Woods, Gulf Eagle Supply, Georgetown Utility Systems, Keystone Concrete, Lighting Inc., LMJ Stucco, Loredo Truss Co., Martinez Painting LLC, Minute Men Press, Moore Supply Co., Professional Design Group, Pedernales Electric Cooperative, Synergy Framing, Sable Electric, Sherwin Williams Paint Company, Probuild, The Door Company, The Glass and Door Company, Town Square Floors, Windrose Land Services Austin , 31-W Insulation Co. Record Month in May

Jimmy Jacobs Custom Homes of Georgetown set an all- time sales record for new custom home sales in the month of May. Jimmy Jacobs’ sales consultants sold 21 to-be- built homes and 12 lots, in communities throughout the Central Texas area. After twenty years in business, “This is the best sales month the company has seen since its start in 1988” said Jimmy. “We were just ranked the number one Custom Homebuilder for 2008 and 2009 is shaping up to be even better!”
Jimmy Jacobs Custom Homes VP of Sales and Marketing, Rob Jensen, attributes the company’s success to an ability to alter the product to fit the modern homebuyer’s wants and needs. “In the current economy, the trend seems to downsize. “Our customers asked for a new series of floor plans with smaller square footage, but still maintaining Jimmy’s signature custom design and details, and we listened. In order to accommodate, we hired an extra architect and formed the all new Premier series of floor plans starting at $259,000.” said Jensen. Though, a new series of plans is not the only change that the team at Jimmy Jacobs Custom homes has made, the homebuilding company also reduced prices making their custom homes even more affordable. Jensen explains that, current economic conditions allowed the company to take advantage of lower construction costs, enabling them to then pass the savings on to the customer. Jimmy is adamant about the benefits of buying in today’s economy. “In my 20 plus years of experience in the homebuilding industry I have never witnessed a better time to purchase a new home” he says. “Interest rates and building costs have hit an all time low, and prices within the industry are expected to increase in the near future. I feel very strongly that this is a once in a lifetime opportunity.”
When asked about what the future holds for Jimmy Jacobs, Jensen said, “We feel strongly that there are a lot of new opportunities for community development in central Texas and this is a great time to expand. While other builders are struggling to stay in business, we have been fortunate to expand by moving into three new communities in the New Braunfels area, Newcombe Ranch, Las Brisas, and River Place at Gruene. We are also very excited about our newest Georgetown development, Estrella, located on Williams Dr. where we will be building a new model home soon.”
Jimmy Jacobs currently has five communities throughout Georgetown, and when asked to expand on communities that are doing well Jensen, said “Actually all of our communities are doing well. Heritage Oaks our active adult community for those 50 and better has shown a huge increase in sales as a result of our new series of homes and recently reduced prices.” said Jensen. Woodland Park, one of Jimmy’s flagship communities also continues to do extremely well with a variety of sized homes ranging from 2500 to 4500. The community also boasts low taxes, Georgetown schools and a brand new model in Woodland Park West.
“Shady Oaks, another one acre community developed by Jimmy Jacobs, has recently opened a new section of heavily wooded lots and is currently building one of their new series of plans, a model called the San Gabriel, with its spacious floor plan the model appears to be much larger than the 2400 sq ft. floor plan. Shady Oaks also offers easy access to major thoroughfares such as I-35 and the soon to be complete Ronald Regan Highway. For families looking for a community with lots of activities, Jensen says Berry creek in Georgetown is an excellent choice. Built around the highly acclaimed Arnold Palmer golf course, the community has a beautiful country club with lighted tennis courts, a pool, snack bar, and tons of recreational activities.
